SİSTAŞ SER-DAR VOICE COMPRESSION SYSTEM

·   Delivers compressed voice traffic over SDH, E1 or Gigabit Ethernet links

·   Supports two channelized E1 main links and up to 12 or 16 external user E1 interfaces per module

·   Compresses up to 12 or 16 E1s into a single E1 link

·   Up to seven modules per chassis for total support of up to 84 or 112 E1 ports

·   Full redundancy of the GbE and STM‑1 links and modules, clocks, control and power supply modules; N+1 redundancy for voice compression modules

Each module transmits up to 12 or 16 E1 data streams over two E1 or Gigabit Ethernet links or aggregates them into an STM‑1 trunk.

The modules operate in the following modes:

·       Receiving user traffic from the 12 or 16 external E1 ports, compressing it and sending via the STM-1 module (see Figure 1)

·       Receiving user traffic from the 12 or 16 external E1 ports, compressing it and sending it via two E1 main links (see Figure 2)

·       Receiving user traffic from the STM-1 module, compressing it, and sending it via two E1 main links (see Figure 3)

·       Receiving user traffic from the STM-1 module, compressing it, and sending it back to the STM 1 interface (see Figure 4).

When used without STM‑1 modules, the chassis accommodates seven voice compression modules. Chassis with one or two STM-1 modules supports six or five voice compression modules, respectively.

The modules use pseudowire multiplexing, together with the G.723.1 and G.729 Annex A voice compression algorithms to provide up to 16:1 compression for effective bandwidth utilization.

Voice Activity Detection (VAD) and silence suppression allow the voice compression modules to dynamically allocate bandwidth for voice traffic. This results in very efficient bandwidth usage, allowing more bandwidth for data transport. The modules detect, generate and relay DTMF, MFR2, and MFC signaling.

CAS is transparently transmitted end‑to‑end.

The modules support relay of Group III fax, as well as all common modem rates and standards. Modem transmissions are handled as voice band data or modem relay. The user can enable/disable fax or modem relay; alternatively, the maximum fax transmission rate can be defined.
